In the peaceful atmosphere of the dunes

Situated at the edge of the Namib Desert, with a view over the dunes, Dünenblick Riverside Apartments offers self-catering units with ‘a modern contemporary, off-the-beaten-track look’.

Dünenblick, German for ‘view over the dunes’, is a newly established accommodation facility in the heart of Swakopmund.

Situated in a very secure and peaceful upmarket residential area, the apartments are a mere five-minute drive into the main town area.

Managed and run as a small family business by Heidi Ockhuys and her daughter, Bronwin, Dünenblick caters mostly for self-drivers and small groups.

As Heidi says, “Our facilities are fully furnished and luxuriously equipped – perfect for enjoying the tranquil surroundings.”

They offer one- or two-bedroom apartments, with either one or two bathrooms. “The area is quiet and tranquil, with the peaceful atmosphere of the dunes felt in every room,” adds Heidi. Most apartments also have a garage.

Apart from the number 1&2 apartments, Dünenblick also runs two apartments at the main beach, opposite the Swakopmund Jetty in the central area of Swakopmund, called Allee La Mer.

Decorated in the same modern design and furnished in shades of green, brown and beige that match the environment, these apartments are fitted with fireplace and balcony. Each Allee La Mer apartment has a double garage.

All of the Dünenblick apartments are fitted with double beds and bathroom with shower. The sleeper couch in the lounge can be used as additional sleeping space for children or extra guests.

Each apartment also has a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and fridge, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. Televisions with DStv and wireless Internet are available in all apartments.

Even though units are for self-caterers, Heidi or Bronwin can deliver a breakfast basket straight to your door. Cleaning services can also be arranged at an extra cost.

Additional accommodation- includes the Riverside Boutique, a three-storey, four-bedroom, four-bathroom house with a large open-plan living area, TV room and deck, which is perfectly suitable for a large family or with Riverside’s number 1&2 apartments as luxury accommodation for small tour operators wanting to spoil their clients. The Riverside complex sleeps up to 12 people.
