Visitors to one of Namibia’s top fishing spots and hard-core camping grounds on the Skeleton Coast will be pleasantly surprised when they show up at Torra Bay for their usual summer holidays.
A facelift of note at this Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) facility includes more and better shower facilities, including ones large enough to accommodate the whole family; flush toilets (a big improvement on the former long-drop variety); a new shop and kiosk; and a communal chill-out area to share tales on the day’s catch. Torra Bay is situated about 270 kilometres north of Henties Bay and is open only between December and January. Camping sites have to be booked and paid for in advance. Contact NWR at 061 285 7200.
