Air Namibia will add Gaborone and Durban to their route network from 30 October 2016.

Gaborone and Durban have been added to the list of destinations that Air Namibia will be flying to as from 30 October 2016.

The initial flight plan will include servicing both destinations four times a week – Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays, using the Embraer ERJ 135 regional jets.

Air Namibia offered flights to Gaborone in the past, but discontinued them after some uncertainties. After some studies the decision was made to reintroduce the flights with the 37-seater jets.

The routes will be from Windhoek to Gaborone to Durban and from there back to Windhoek.

Air Namibia has also been granted the 5th freedom traffic rights and as such will be offering a service for traffic between Gaborone and Durban.

The two destinations are the first new destinations to be added to Air Namibia’s route network as laid out in their five-year Route Network and Schedule Development Plan. Other destination will be added to the network in the next five years and will be announced when required government approvals have been granted.

The new routes will eliminate transit stops and offer brief trip times travelling between Windhoek and Gaborone and between Windhoek and Durban.

It would be good if Air Namibia would provide something halaal for the muslim travellers, as the biltong served can not be consumed by Muslims.
I travel very often with my family on Air Namibia and often have nothing to eat on my flight as I am unable to have chocolates as I am a diabetic. Fruit or vegetarian snacks would be encouraged and greatly appreciated
