As of June 26 this year, Namibia will terminate its flight route to Ghana, Accra, due to commercial reasons.

Yesterday the airline announced the cancellation of this route, citing “limited traffic numbers” as a major reason for the termination.

The airline stated that after the airline introduced the direct route, Windhoek to Accra, “we recorded growth in traffic numbers, however traffic levels are not sufficient enough for sustenance of the route and will take a very long time to reach desired economic levels”.

The Ghana route was first introduced by Air Namibia in 2009.

An Air Namibia statement said that passengers booked on the flight beyond the termination date, will be taken care of by Air Namibia, by being booked on partner airlines.
