Namibian Grace Diaz Khakhane proudly put Namibia on the map when she was recently crowned as the winner of “Beauty of the World 2013” pagent in Eastern Europe. 

Grace spent two weeks in Krygyzstan where the compeititon was held, mingling with a host of other fair ladies from accross the world.  

She was not only the sole contestant from Namibia, but also from Africa, participating at the event. 

As the only African model selected to participate in the World Beauty Congress’ International Beauty and Model Festival 2013, Grace proudly walked away with the top prize.

Of her experience, she said she was surprised that no one knew about Namibia and she was glad to be an ambassador spreading the word about her home country. She added that she was equally aware of carrying the mantle not only for Namibia, but also for Africa.

“To be the only African country to participate, was an absolute privilege”, said Grace.

Of her experience, she noted that “Kyrgyzstan’s people are very welcoming and made us feel at home. I met beautiful ladies from more than 20 countries, who spoke different languages and come from different cultures.”
