December 2016 should see the popular tourist destination, Spitzkoppe, offering guests brand new accommodation. A modern inn with 15 chalets and a main building will be constructed.

Great care has been taken to ensure that the building design will be environmentally friendly. If construction goes according to plan, the brand new lodge will be opened by mid- 2016.

The location of the inn will be on rented land behind the Spitzkoppe. This will be about 4-5km from the existing Spitzkoppe Rest Camp. The main building will be constructed between rock formations that the Spitzkoppe is known for. The chalets will be built on decks to prevent damage to the environment. A road will lead from the existing camp, around the mountains, to the new inn.

Each chalet will have its own space and privacy separate from the other chalets. The main building will include a dining hall and sundowner bar with breathtaking views of the landscape. Even the Brandberg will be seen in the distance.

A swimming pool will be built mimicking the natural Spitzkoppe pools.  As with the natural pools the water to the swimming pool will flow from a source hidden within the rocks.

Rock art in the surroundings will not be damaged. A route will be developed to guide visitors to all of the rock art sites. This route will also be accessible for most vehicles that aren’t 4×4.

Traffic within the area of the inn will be limited to golf carts that will be used to transport visitors’ luggage to their chalets. To ensure the conservation of the environment guests will not be allowed to stay on a self-service basis, therefore a dining hall will be set up at the main building.
