At Hotel Thule’s On the Edge restaurant in Windhoek you have the luxury of enjoying a meal while perched high above the skyline of the city, basking in the romance of the flickering lights below, and indulging in a ‘wild’ meal such as the Oryx Tenderloin.
Besides being a favourite with many guests, the gemsbok (oryx) is also duty manager Rosaline !Gorases’s top choice. “I’m an African girl and we need to eat meat. Gemsbok is simply the best meat out here.”
The gemsbok steak is served with homemade Spätzle (‘just the way the Germans like it’) and seasoned vegetables. On the Edge offers an à la carte, breakfast and terrace menu, catering for every mood and moment. If there’s a lack of growl in your stomach, opt for a cocktail or two and sample a snack basket on the side, while admiring the sun setting over the distant mountains.
On The Edge is open from Monday to Saturday for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and on Sundays and public holidays for breakfast only.
