Have a go at a Tswana trance, do the Nama stap, shake your booty to Owambo rhythms, and loosen the limbs to the beat of the African drum.
Every Saturday morning at Windhoek’s College of the Arts, two warrior women gather their clan of dancers and move energetically around until the perspiration runs in streams down their faces and the wooden floors creek beneath the feet.
Don’t fret if you don’t have the behind for a spot of serious shaking, because professionally trained African contemporary dancers, Trixie Munyama and Angelika Schroeder, will see to it that you lift your legs, wave your arms, and move to the music.
Best of all, you’ll actually enjoy it! To cultivate a taste for the African beat, be at the COTA auditorium at 10:00 on a Saturday, bring water and wear comfy clothes. The damages will be only N$30.
