From the humble beginnings as a battery depot operating from Promenaden Road in Windhoek, CYMOT has grown to a household name operating throughout Namibia via its 14 company-owned branches.
Apart from celebrating the 70th business anniversary, CYMOT is equally proud of the fact that since 1985, CYMOT Namibia has been a wholly Namibian owned company. The total staff complement of around 500 employees has been and remains one of CYMOT’s core strengths. During 2015 CYMOT was honoured with the 3rd place ‘Top Performer’ award of the Namibian Employment Equity Commission (ECC), while last year CYMOT walked away with the prestigious 3M CEEMEA award during the A+A Show in Düsseldorf, Germany.
While celebrating the 70th anniversary in a depressed economic Namibian business climate, CYMOT continues to invest in the expansion of our Namibian footprint. The opening of our Windhoek Prosperita branch at the start of April highlights the commitment and faith that CYMOT shows to Namibia and its people. Over the years CYMOT has remained loyal to its core objective of supplying quality guaranteed products, backed up with after-sales service by trained staff offering superior customer care.
While CYMOT comes with a lot of history and heritage, we strive to continue to be the leaders in the market segments that we operate in! Proof of this strategic objective is the launch of CYMOT’s new website towards the end of last year. The new www.cymot.com is a leading-edge website offering our customers the opportunity to browse, and ultimately shop on a 24/7 basis from the comfort of your home or via any “smart” enabled device. We further strive to bring our loyal customers the latest generation e-commerce solution during the next few months and to create platforms to showcase the beauty of Namibia. One of such platforms is an outdoor website in co-work with the Gondwana Collection, which CYMOT and Gondwana will launch next month.
On the corporate social investment perspective, CYMOT has over the years continuously supported initiatives in line with education, sport and nature conservation. During the 70th anniversary celebrations, CYMOT will again support NaDEET, the Save the Rhino Trust (SRT), as well as supply the Africat Education Centre with tents and camping equipment.
The business strategy for the future is to continue to deliver service excellence to the customers while giving them the opportunity to connect with CYMOT via a wide range of platforms. Most of CYMOT’s showrooms have been enlarged and modernised during the last decade, while the new virtual showroom is undoubtedly a 1st for Namibia – simplifying life for the customers!
