IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

DIAS BRIDGE to DIAS CROSS – LÜDERITZ PENINSULA NAMIBIA

The original WOODEN BRIDGE across the tidal river to Dias Cross was built in late 1911 and destroyed by a storm on 15 November 2014. A replacement bridge is already being planned. However, until such time that a new bridge is constructed and provides for safe access to DIAS CROSS – IT IS DANGEROUS TO ACCESS DIAS CROSS and is best viewed from below and to the side at a safe distance (away from the ocean & big waves). When a new walkway/bridge is constructed, an information bulletin to this effect will be sent out. As Dias Bridge and Dias Cross are managed by Namibia’s National Heritage Council, relevant parties are being approached to undertake feasibility and project engineering works.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING & SUPPORT!
