Creative, passionate, visionary. These are some of the attributes which shone through the art created by a number of children in Namibia who took part in the Save the Rhino Trust kids art competition this month.

The children’s art was produced in line with efforts to create awareness around the need to protect the endangered black rhino in Namibia. SRT spokesperson Sue Wagner noted that at one school, a classroom not only entered a number of drawings, but also managed to collect coins in a tin to the value of N$284.20.

Furthermore, the children collected children’s clothes, toys and food which will be handed over to the SRT trackers.

“Such incredible enthusiasm and support for the SRT from the future generation”, Wagner noted. The children’s art work displayed their interest and passion regarding the cause of the SRT and Wagner noted that these children will be strong ambassadors for the black rhino now and in the future.

“With the younger generation so concerned about the future of Namibia’s rhino, we have to remain positive that what we teach today will be heard tomorrow and much further into the future”, Wagner concluded.
