A room with a view is a prerequisite on many a traveller’s list. But an entire guesthouse with a host of views is even better, because it affords visitors the prospect of experiencing this luxury from all angles.
Enter Villa Vista, the latest addition to Windhoek’s guesthouse fraternity, with rooms overlooking the sparkling pool below and the face of Windhoek in the distance. What’s more, the dining area offers spectacular city vistas as well as fresh air and one of the most scrumptious breakfasts around (with a different warm addition every day). Says owner and manager Koos Vollgraaf, “We wanted to create something homey, with a warm and natural touch.”
And this is exactly what Koos and his wife Fransette have achieved at Villa Vista. Small touches like a fresh slice of lemon in the evening G&T, abundant candles to create romance, and river pebbles and reeds for meditation round off the relaxed ambience of each room. There’s a story behind every piece of furniture (some of which caused Koos more grey hair than he had bargained for), a mini cross-fit gym, sauna, and an eco-friendly approach that adds appeal for the vista seekers. Find Villa Vista at 5 Luther Street, Windhoek.
