Welcome to Namibia
July 8, 2013

The Namibia Wildlife Trust (NWT), established in the early eighties by Blythe Loutit and Ina Britz in response to the horrific poaching of black rhino and elephants in Namibia, closed its doors after 32 years.

The NWT was instrumental in establishing the Save the Rhino Trust and supporting various other organizations fighting for the conservation of wildlife in Namibia.

Last week, founding members of the NWT, Peter Böttger, Allan Walkden-Davis and Walter Böttger handed over the remaining funds from the NWT, N$24 699,68 to the Namibia Nature Fund (NNF). The funds will be used to support black-rhino and desert elephant projects at the NNF.

The three founding members told a German dailly last week that the NWT has fullfilled its directive and that a number of organisations were created to fullfil the NWT’s goals, such as protecting the black rhino in Namibia.
