Onjala Lodge and Game Reserve situated about 75km noth-east of Windhoek officially opened its brand new observatory last weekend.
Now guests have the opportunity to gaze at the stars at Onjala Lodge: The astronomical observatory, which formerly stood on Rooisand Desert Ranch, was built at a high point of Onjala lodge for maximum exposure to Namibia’s grandiose sky.
Astronomer Wolfgang Paech of the University of Hannover in Germany played a key role in setting up the telescope. The telescope of the make ASTRO Physics 1200 offers groups of up to 10 people to observe the wonderful starlit night sky.
