Desert Homestead Lodge

The Desert Homestead lies three kilometers north-west of the C19 and D854 roads junction, approximately 32km south-east of Sesriem. The wide grassy valley is sheltered by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft mountains with a view reaching the distant dunes of the Namib Desert in the west.

In this exquisite position, we offer simple but stylish accommodation in thatched chalets designed with the fragile beauty of this remarkable environment in mind. The Desert Homestead will ensure an unrivalled respite from the desert extremes. Tranquil surroundings, alfresco dining, delectably fresh farm cuisine, refreshing dips in the pool, stunning sunsets and sunrises are the basic pleasures at our lodge.

FEATURED ACTIVITY: Horse Trails

The Desert Homestead Lodge is famous for its guided trail rides in the Namib desert. Guided rides are offered twice a day in the early morning and close to sunset. Horse riding safaris lasting several days can be booked by experienced riders as well as beginners. Spending the night in a romantic tent camp with a campfire under the starry sky of the Namib desert will be an unforgettable experience. Morning and evening trail rides may spontaneously be booked in the lodge. Trail rides with overnight stays have to be booked at least one week in advance.
