The speed windsurfing world record was almost broken by the new Belgium national record holder with a fantastic speed of 53.25 knots, just 0.02 knots outside the world record that Antoine Albeau (FRA) achieved at the 2015 Lüderitz Speed Challenge event.

To date, the event has produced an astonishing 135+ national and 17 world records (windsurfing and kiteboarding).
