On 18 May 2014 the Namib Quest will kick off, once again testing endurance and fitness levels of participants as the race stretches over 6 days from Windhoek to Swakopmund.
Danie Keulder, Sponsorships and Events Managerof Namibia Breweries Limited: “NBL is supporting this event for the fourth year in a row. In the past it was sponsored by Windhoek Lager, but it became clear that the athletes needed a lighter beer to complement their healthy lifestyle, thus the sponsor brand has changed to Windhoek Light.”
Keulder expressed his delight with the increase in riders which already stand at 60 – up from 30 last year. Participants from Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola and China are expected.
“We thank African Extreme Promotions for the organising and logistics of the event – especially Tinus Hansen, Mannie Heymans and Basil Smit. We take this opportunity to also wish all participants well in their journey. We know they are well looked after. Have fun, enjoy the ride and reward yourself with a cold Windhoek Light at the end of every day.”
The race will start on the 18th of May 2014 in the capital city Windhoek and end 6 days later on the 23rd of May 2014 in Swakopmund. Registration for the race will be held on Saturday, 17th of May 2014. Details regarding the registration and start venue will be sent to all competitors by way of newsletters.
