Why do some people love to camp and others don’t? To be honest, who cares? Luckily Namibia offers everyone the chance to travel the country and stay in the type of accommodation they prefer. Okay, with that settled, for those who DO love camping, here is a list of the ten coolest places to pitch your tent in Namibia.

Honeymoons are a big deal... apparently. It’s supposed to be the most romantic holiday a couple can take. That’s a lot of pressure on one trip. Where in the world is this destination for two people that is sure to deliver on all of their rose-tinted expectations while still being affordable enough to leave the bank balance dent-free?

Our daily lives can be a wonderful maelstrom of exciting moments, and yet our hearts may still yearn for new places, new faces, new moments of unique experience. A few years ago I came across the term “Generation Wanderlust”. It struck a chord.

"The opportunity to come home to see what is happening, to meet people caring for orphaned black and white rhinos, and to work with the trackers, rangers and communities to raise awareness is very important to me. Someday, I want to take my children to experience these animals in the wild." - Behati Prinsloo

One often comes across the concept of Namibia being the ‘last frontier’ or ‘last true wilderness’. It piques the interest, does it not? And in so many respects these phrases are true. Namibia really is home to some of the last truly wild corners of Africa. Special places where man’s destructive and encroaching reach has not yet penetrated. Wild places for wild things to thrive. And even beyond these strongholds there exist sanctuaries and reserves for wildlife to roam, protected from “civilisation” and its consequences. Namibia is a wild place, and a wildlife lover's utopia.

Being a green traveller means a lot more than just throwing your trash in the bin. It already starts at home when you plan your trip and includes loads of factors like transport, accommodation and even daily routines. Below are 10 ways to be a green traveller when visiting Namibia. It is obviously not always possible to adhere to all of these, but it will already make a difference if you can change your behaviour by incorporating some of the suggestions in your travel plans.

We want Namibia to remain the special and authentic experience which we can proudly say it is today. Over-tourism is a rapidly growing global issue and we, here in this far-flung corner of southern Africa, are not immune to it.
